Coolest experiences so far

UMicIt has presented both Al and I the opportunity to gain some first hand experience starting up a business. We have had the opportunity to work and talk with people in the industry. Everyone we have come across so far has been extremely helpful and positive to the growth of UMicIt.

Rob Loukotka helped design our logo. Up until a month or two a go we had used this really crude logo I put together. It got the job done, but not with style. Rob was referred to us by the founder of mybandstock.com, Drew Leahy. Rob's work process really helped Al and I figure out exactly what UMicIt is and where we want to take it. Really diving deep into the mic. So we went through a lot of evaluating our product and in turn were delivered completely awesome branding. The logo is meant to be a hand holding a microphone, if you have not picked up on that yet. Anyways, working with Rob was great in general and helped us better define UMicIt.

Other events of note include our night downtown at the Goldstien, Caldwell & Associates young entrepreneur conference. We drove along the north shore to go to a presentation of our peer's web applications at an unsuspecting flower shop near Case Western. I was expecting at least half of the apps presented to be WeMicIt, but luckily(surprisingly) there was nothing really like UMicIt. There were definitely some really cool, unique ideas presented by area college students. Maybe some apps for UMicIt in the future...

Pretty much everyone we have worked with so far has been great. From our web programming team (chepri interactive) to our legal eagles, to our reps (big ups) to our print shop (rdesign in columbus) and to everyone else,

thanks.

New blog

The old blog was marked as spam and deleted by the man some time a go. I finally got around to taking the time to create a new blogspot during the week of our launch.

Around this time last year UMicIt was conceptualized as an answer to innovate social media. While much has changed since the early brain melt sessions, the principles of our vision have remained fairly true to form. Our goal to create a tool of actual value to the common student is soon coming to fruition.

This has all been a great learning experience, most of which I would like to explore throughout this blogspottz.
